I think GP3 works like GP4 with the GPxPatch, so the program replaces the files and then put it automatic to the default.

You need to run it with GPXPatch and install belini season jam folders which you download and install separately from the track.

Well, there´re F1 mods for GPL, not many but yes.

I've copied the .jam files into the Gp3jamH folder and it still doesn't work. ](*,)

Re: GP2 better than GP3 or GP4

i have a new computer and gp4 works very good.. and i try to love this game but It's very difficult. In cockpit view it's not real. The gameplay is weird. Just a good point the AI is very good. Play to Gp2 is better but it's crazy to say that...

Yeah,gp4 does require a good graphics card to run the game smoothly.
But I like all of them,gp2 still scores higher bcoz of the abillity to run upto 13 teams unlike the other 2. :D

I've started playing gp4 again and I've got to say I'm a little disappointed.

Granted it has some definite pros:

1. Better graphics
2. T-cam view
3. Weather options
4. Several different car shapes at once
5. Debris damage

And these are to name only a few, however, something seems lacking. Leaving aside the reduced number of teams, or the increased complexity of trying to create any mods, the game feels a little too "arcady" for me. I've found several tracks where I can take a corner and pass through part of your opponent's car, something I've never experienced on gp2.

Also I've found the damage settings appear a little unrealistic and that you can drive like Andrea de Ceseris and still sustain little damage if any. But I guess my biggest issue is it doesn't have the same feel as gp2. On the same difficulty settings, with the same driver aids and driving a slower car I can still easily win in gp4, whereas in gp2 my performance would normally be closer to Nakajima, but I loved the challenge. I guess for me, gp4 is prettier and has more bells and whistles but just seems to lack the soul of gp2 that makes it so enjoyable.

What do others think?

About the challenge, I feel the opposite. I'm much faster than GP2 ccs with original settings compared to GP4 where I run in the middle of the pack. This is not a problem since we can make GP2 more challenging very easily.

I like the fact that GP4 runs better on my laptop and has so much better AI and physics (no penalty for driving GP2 with rear wings set to 1 or throttle control disabled, things that were corrected in GP3 actually). Another thing that GP4 has on its side is the accuracy of its tracks, but since I'm not much into F1 circuits, I don't care very much for it.

But GP2 is much easier to be made your own, with so many tracks and cars. It is so easy to edit and see the results quickly. When set properly it can be quite challenging and you can ignore the physics problems and focus only on the driving if you have a challenging race.

GP2 wins for me for being so easy to tweak and for having so much content. I just which it had better AI and it was compatible with GPxPatch (we have GP2Lap but it is not as good).

But I can't say I dislike any of the GPx games. They are still the best racing games for keyboard drivers.

when you say about making the gp2 more challenging , you mean by using the gp2 editor??? Am i right?

Yes, GP2Edit is the best. But I also use the Track Editor and the Magic Data editor to adjust custom tracks so the ccs have no weird accidents when going to pits, wrong fuel consumption, etc...

I personally think GP2 is the best. It has an un describable quality and emotion to it. You can feel the passion and love that was put in the game. I never really spent much time on gp4 but while the AI and other aspects of it are great it just seems to be lacking something. I dont like the handling, I find it feels like the car is light as a feather. I loved gp3 in the day and only recently re United with Gp2 after 10 years due to dissatisfaction with codemasters mediocre offerings. Gp2 is timeless

I think it is the way their wheels spin. Especially when driving using the T-Cam, GP4 cars look and feel like they are as light as feather.

I always drive in cockpit view and I feel the same thing too. I can never feel when the car is on the limit, in GP2 you can feel the grip threshold better. For some reason the cars seem like they are "floating" in gp4, both in terms of the handling and just watching external replays.
