A few questions
A few questions
Sorry to post this, but I have a few question to all of you.
After almost 3 and a half years away from GP2, I finally got back into this fantastic world, but now I have some questions to you:
1. I use Windows XP, and with NL 2010 final carset all the cars top speed doesn't exceed 270 KPH. I found it kind weird, cause I never saw that before, in Windows 98. E.G.: A lap at 99' Interlagos was made in around 1m29.5. What can I do to fix it?
2. I would like to update the track adverts. How should I proceed? It's not like changing track layout, and etc. Just updating the sponsors. Again, it's weird to run at Interlagos and see sponsors like Telesp Celular and Unicor, since those companies don't exist anymore.
3. I can't make GP2lap work, lol.
Thanks, in advance! :^^

Re: A few questions
To number one: is difficulty set to Ace-level?
Re: A few questions
No, it's Rookie. But I guess that doesn't change anything, since all the cars, player or cc, can exceed 270KPH.

Re: A few questions
Are you sure they are kilometres, not miles?
Re: A few questions
Yep, I checked it twice. It's Kilometers.
I added 420BHP in the carset, and now cars reach 307KPH.

On the other hand, it changes! If you want maximum performances from CCs, you must play with level 5 activated.
Re: A few questions
But it will not change the player's car speed. This issue is affecting all 26 cars in the grid.

I think because of the fact that in the NL 2010 carset, it is activated the option "use selected team power" (under "car settings" in gp2edit). First, try to uncheck this option and try to see if your car goes faster.
Re: A few questions
The cars weren't supposed to reach, I don't know, 330 KPH in straight lines? Am I the only who seeing the top-speed issue as a issue?
I use a slower car for myself because it's a Minardi-like. That's not what I'm complaining about.
And what about issues 2 and 3?
Oh, and I would also like to make question #4: Is it possible to have two different GP2 installed on the pc?
I mean, one with F1, and the other one with Indycar tracks and teams?

Re: A few questions
2. It depends on where the adverts are situated but you have to understand the basics of track editing to do this.
You can find tutorials here: http://www.grandprix2.de/Anleitung/tutus/tutus.htm
If adverts are on objects read from object tutorials about textures. If they are elsewhere read from command libraries about the command 0xbc.
There may be an easier way with GP2Edit but I don't know that.
4. Yes, it is possible by just copying the folder.

Re: A few questions
I guess I could try, right? It won't take a piece of me, I guess.
Re: A few questions
At rookie level, car power is reduced. GP2Edit bhp if for Ace level.
Re: A few questions
Oh well... Now I have to take courage in creating 2010 tracks... Someone wants a very bad 2011 carset, btw?
