Track maps and Vista
Does anybody know if it's possible to change the track maps when playing with Vista and DosBox / D-Fend Reloaded as I do? I haven't found any solution for this problem.
Re: Track maps and Vista
In Windows 7 I have the same problemLife Racing Engines wrote:Does anybody know if it's possible to change the track maps when playing with Vista and DosBox / D-Fend Reloaded as I do? I haven't found any solution for this problem.
Re: Track maps and Vista
I have installed WinHipicPro in Vista. All needed dll's ocx's and the command.com are present.
The program starts but when I try to import/export: -"Runtime error 53".
Something is still missing but ........
It's good to have win98 and xp installed in a virtual PC.
Back to your question:
You can import/export the pictures under Vista with
PIC-IN.bat
PIC-OUT.bat
made by Guido van de Water.
His batch files a written for a GP2 Installation under C:/GP2
Move the GP2 folder to C:/
The name must be GP2
Copy GP2HIPIC.EXE , PIC-IN.BAT , PIC-OUT.BAT to C:/GP2
Start the PIC-OUT.BAT
This will extract all 76 pictures in one step.
With PIC-IN.BAT you can export the new pictures to the game.
Now move the GP2 folder back to it's old place.

Re: Track maps and Vista
And last question do I need from this batch files My program now works in VPC with XP
Re: Track maps and Vista
No need to use the batch files when WinhipicPro works on your PC.

@Life Racing Engines
The batch files are now available here:
http://grandprix2.de/Util/util.htm#4
Nice that PIC-IN.bat/PIC-OUT.bat works for you.
Today I made tests with Gethipic.bat v2.1 and Extins.dat.
GETHIPIC.BAT is easier to use. You must move only the F1PCSVGA.BIN. and not the whole GP2 folder.
Extins is very easy to use. Here you install the batch file into a directory within Gp2.
All GP2 files stay on it's place.

Re: Track maps and Vista
I had some problems with Gethipic but Extins works. It's great, thanks again!
Re: Track maps and Vista
Nice finally solution for this problems
Re: Track maps and Vista
Why should I export/import all pics and maps, when I just want to install two pictures?
With Tpic I wrote 16 batch files. One for every track slot.
If someone test the batch files (Vista, Win7), please report here.
I am not really sure, but I think the f1pcsvga.bin gets lesser fragmented in this way.

Works perfectly with Vista, good work again!
Re: Track maps and Vista
@AAS: Is there any chance you could update these batch-files for use with Windows XP?
Visit my website: FK's sportscar project
Re: Track maps and Vista
They should work with XP. .V12-Power wrote:@AAS: Is there any chance you could update these batch-files for use with Windows XP?
Did you try it?
At the moment I can not check it on a XP computer. (because of my broken bone)
