Gp2 and multi-session

Ok, I swear I read it some times ago in this forum, but I cannot find the post... anyway:
this problem happens when you choose more than one player and you play whatever type of race.
I am currently racing 1953 season, and cars are VERY underpowered (200 bhp). When it's time to switch during race from one driver to another, the car starts behaving like it had 700+ bhp, and this again and again for every driver chosen at the start of the race.
This ends up with 200 bhp cars racing against spaceships.
How (and if...) this problem could be solved?

I think the cars use the standart 780 bhp for the player, I don`t know if this could be fixed. Maybe one of our cracks (hopefully) knows more? :D

I look very much forward having the possibility to drive for more than one driver... let's say, one champion and one backpacker... this could make the races more interesting, I guess.

Is this a bug or what? :-k

I think the game never was designed that the player uses other engine strenghts than the 789/790er ones and maybe this value stays for the multiplayer sessions :(

Did you change the car power in GP2Edit Car Settings page?

Yes: no way.

I know GP3 and GP4 have the BHPs stored in several places on the .exe. This may be the problem also in GP2.

Yes, but the problem is understanding WHERE and HOW to modify... :-k

It`s truly a pity that GP2Edit is not updated any more :(

still nothing to do with this?

I've been thinking that the default human player power on orginal gp2 was 780HP, no matter what car you drive. I guess that when you're in multiplayer session and your car is being driven by the computer, gp2 uses the particular team power, but when the computer give the control to you it sets back the 780HP power to your car. This value is the problem. There must be a way to change it.
Any ideas?

I'm afraid that after three years of "no answer" on the matter, there is really nothing we could do.
Unless some of the big-Gp2-brains has some still unveiled news, but I doubt so... :(

To understand what causes the issue it would be needed someone with Debug knowledge to learn if a simple patch would be viable.

Alternatively, a real time fix could be implemented easily in GP2Lap, if someone is able to convince Rene Smith to make a new version (well, maybe not that easy, but I said it by the way I understand GP2Lap works, but I may be wrong). But it would mess saved games and replays, unless a "not that simple" fix would made. If someone is able to create another realtime tool which would work independently from GP2Lap it would work too, but I've tried before and it's beyond my capabilities.

Hello everyone. I've been playing Grand Prix 2 for a long time. However, I tend to play pretty casually and like to drive as everyone in the field but due to this issue it takes a lot of fun out of using older seasons in which the cars are under powered as after each turn in a car it rockets away and basically every race finishes in qualifying order. I was wondering if by any chance someone knows if it would be possible to fix this issue.

I'm guessing no one has any ideas on this?
