Ferrari SpA is announcing that, despite the good work done during these two years and a half, its relationship with Alain Prost has come to an end.
We are thankful, but we feel that splitting parts could be better for both of us.
This has an immediate effect.
Starting from German GP, Riccardo Patrese's teammate will be former Lotus-driver Alessandro Zanardi. It is the first time since 50's that two Italian drivers did not drive for Ferrari, so we are quite excited by this new adventure. We expect him to collect as many points as possible, and help Patrese and Ferrari to be higher possible in both championships.

McLaren Press Statement:

We are very pleased with the results in germany of our two drivers.

We are talking with some drivers for next year... and yes we don't talk with Gerhard over next year. We will race next year with a youngster, they have the future and we have to think about that sometimes. Gerhard has done a very good job at McLaren and we will give him free for next year. I'm sure if he is in a good car, he can challenge the McLaren boys next year.

After this annoucement we hope Gerhard will be a professional driver and that he will find back his motivation. That he can show the world that he is a very very good driver.

Fondmetal:
Frentzen was very sad about the close DNPQ at his home GP but then was able to qualify at the next round. Unfortunately he scored another DNF due a car failure there but still gives the team hope for better results following soon.

Andrea Moda:
The team did an amazing job compared to last year and is even more hopefull for the next year, but the CEO of the Andrea moda group, Mr. Andrea Sasetti, still decided to withdraw from the F1 after this season. The team is very sad about this situation but still confident to find a solution to keep the team alive next year.

Benetton: We are happy to have finally scored a victory again! We believe we can still get 3rd in the constructors-championship, as we have a very strong driver-line up, that is supperior to Ferrari's and all other teams.

Dallara: What a sad season. For the next year we have to change some major things to give our car a performance boost! Then we can hopefully score more points again.

Ferrari press conference: apart from last race @ Zandvoort (which it is like it never happened) what I can say is that Zanardi is improving, and Patrese is a very solid driver. Benetton is strong in this moment, but we are looking forward to catch McLaren on the long term. And Patrese is not so far from the top of the drivers championship...

Lotus press conference:
just a sad "no comment" by now... :(

Lamborgini Press Release

Just before their Home Grand Prix at Monza, Lamborghini gave out the following Press Release.

"We are very sad to announce that the "Modena Team Lamborghini" will step out of Formula One after the following European Grand Prix at Sweden. We will not travel to Japan and Australia. We scored 2 Lucky Points in two years and we see no more sense in it. We will be in Formula One as Engine supplier in 1993. We are currently searching for a Works-Partner which will be supplied with free Engines for 1993. If you are a Team Manager, feel free to contact us..."

Newsflash - 1992 (Mid-Season)

--- Minardi ---
1992 is so far disappointing and the results are unacceptable for the expectations of Kay Lon and the supporters of the squad. Until now, most complaints were about the engine. But now, the drivers gained more negative attention and supposedly they will have time until the Home Grand Prix at Monza to raise their game or face unemployment. According to rumors, the Lamborghini pull-out and the free engine offer has raised the interest of Kay Lon. Other reports say that Kay Lon wants to remove the Italian touch of the team to make it more successful.

--- Arrows ---
The switch to Yamaha engines has worked out as well as it could in this very unfortunate situation. The survival of the team is secured due to a takeover of the AGS remainders but beside that, this season is completely behind every expectation. The second-team solution did not worked out as well as expected. McNish will likely get a chance with Minardi next year and Bernard is not secure for 1993. Furthermore, K. Lon announced that both teams will be supported equally in 1993.
