http://grandprix2.de/Util/util_more.htm
Download: "Two utilities for Microprose GP2"
KBDSTEER.EXE allows disabling Steering help and Opposite lock when playing using the default
keyboard settings

I encountered the same prob, on my PC (without regular MS updates or internet connection) VDM-Sound works perfectly. on the notebook with the most recent updates not. I switched to SP3, but it didn`t work with SP2 as well.

Another possibility is to set up a virtual win 98 machine, in there all should run great

I'm installing Win98se in an old HD. It will be perfect for GP2 and GP3. \:D/

The program works in DosBox normally (have you checked the usage options in the text file that comes with the zip?).

However, it looks like it had no practical effect on my game.

Hi thanks for the quick reply. Yes i have looked in the readme. I have ran it in dosbox but you cannot choose an option. I think its one of the old dos programs that you used to run and then you chose an option then the program applies it and then closes. Dosbos only runs the program and then goes to back to the main directory folder waiting for the next command inside the gp2 folder.

The usage is something like "c:>kbdsteer 0"

Then it displays a message and it's done, your GP2 is patched. You need to start gp2 manually after this.

Same here, KBDSTEER has no effect on the game. Running all in dosbox (I've tried the ECE version too).

I've tested it here and this time it worked.

I put kbdsteer.exe in my GP2 folder, then from dosbox I go to my GP2 folder (i.e. cd c:/gp2), type kbdsteer 0 and hit enter. kbdsteer 1, kbdsteer 2 and kbdsteer 3 all worked.

But the game is totally unplayable with the keyboard if the steering help is off.
