Well, here goes another update. Few things changed about the magic data, but there's a nice new feature which is not really related to the magic data.

Now we can edit the grip and wear for each tyre type! I've discovered it while doing some research about gp2 phisycs (I've lost all the data I did get some months ago).

It will be very useful when trying to simulate diferent kinds of racing.

Some news...

Unknown 11 is "Semi-pro grip". If you let it as 16384, cc laptimes in semi-pro will be the same than in ace level. Lower values give worst times, higher gives better. Times in pro level are somewhere near semi-pro and ace. It doesn't affect rookie and amateur.

About the tyre profiles. Do not use values lower than 16384 for tyre grip. It will give a super grip (very unrealistic). Above 16384, the higher the value, more grip you will have.

I've sent a new editor to Andreas. I think you all will like it. It will still need those dependencies (.NET framework and Visual C++ redistributable).

There're still 9 unknowns. If someone wants to help, here goes some info...

Unknown 5
It affects the cc behavior when the race starts or when he leaves the pits. If you put a high value, the ccs may miss some corners in the first lap. The values for all slots are 1024, 1280, 1536 or 2048 (4*256, 5*256, 6*256 or 8*256, if you look the exe in the hex editor you will se a 4, 5, 6, or 8)

Unknown 6
Values are somewhat near Unknown 5, but they have a great variety. I doesn't affect laptimes. I have no idea about what it does.

Unknown 12
It's always close to Semi-pro grip value, maybe they are related. It doesn't mean Pro level grip and it's not a race factor for semi-pro level. I doesn't affect laptimes. Maybe it will affect some behavior in the race? Or maybe it affects lower levels? I didn't test it. In fact I have no idea about what it does.

Unknowns 14, 15, 16 and 17
Values too high (around 60000) are probably negative, value - 65536 (i.e. 65024=> 65536-65024=-512). But I couldn't find any clue about their meaning.

Unknown 18
Always 64 in all slots. Probably useless. I should have taken it off from the data.

Unknown 24
It has a slight effect in cc laptimes. Maybe it's a finetune to Fuel consumptions?

I will upload the editor in the next hours.
I want to make a "project-page" for the editor.
Collecting the original data (in a clear table) and our knowledge about the setting.

Well I was looking at Microsoft pages and Visual C++ 2008 is not compatible with win 98. So it won't matter if you have the framework or not.

I'll try to adapt the editor to Visual C++ 2005 which may work in win98, but I can't make it now. Maybe until february.

I don't want any "modified timing values" for my laptimes. I want them to be 100% accurate. I assume I can achieve this by changing all of the timing values (for racing and qualifying) to a set number, for all slots...

does anyone know the number I would have to change this to so time is not either shortened or stretched?
