I've used something similar in the past, Paddock Champ. You use the Print function on GP2 to print the race results and qualifying to text files, then import the text files to Paddock champ. It then works out all the points and stuff.

To be honest, If I was a wiz with programming, I'd have a go at altering it but mine would be a lot more realistic.
It is a good thing tho...

By the way, like the Blackadder quotes!

One of my fav tv shows ever!

It crashed more than a few times for me, so I can't really use it, but it's a cool idea, having a career manager like that.

I used that utility when I played GP3.
Its certainly more pleasant on the eye than F1 Career but it looses out because there isn't the facility for you to be offered contracts to progress your career.

Such a pity someone can't bring them both together...

I think it should be very easy to R. Scandura to add GP2 funcionality, as the files are pretty similar.

Belatti wrote:Now my time is being spent with the horribly difficult Jerez (you know why, check the results ) with a 100% race with Gianni Morbidellis Footwork (1994 original specs) but with the original Ford engine power (715-695BHP). Started 7th and running 1st on lap 12 (thanks to Hill with 1 pitstop strategy who didnt let Schumacher and Coulthard pass for 10 laps) and I just took Schumacher out (now running 19th) :D
Well, now you can see this game on the file I uploaded yesterday in this topic:
http://hfgp2.hf.funpic.de/forum/viewtop ... 4&start=45

with the difference that I´m currently in lap 28 and running in P2 behind Hill after an early pitstop.

I think I´m doing quite well :D with that car, in that track, but everytime I sit down I cant do more than 10 laps that something will happen that makes me save the game and go away!
I would like to have the time to sit, get focused and finish the damn race!!!

Wow, the track "lappeerenata" is by far the most difficult track I have ever tryied on GP2
Driving with original carset (as I always do, ace, keyboard) I can barely maintain my position in 15th
Corners with height changes and inner kerbs are very tricky and make you spin easily, I cant seem to find a setup that fits this track

any suggestion welcome! :D

I had a try...the track is realy hard. I took second place on the grid with this setup:

Code: Select all

Setup:
   20,16 R42.000:58.000F 42,45,47,50,53,56
             ARB: F 00000 R 0000
00/0/0/00/00/1300/35.0 00/0/0/00/00/1300/35.0
00/0/0/00/00/0700/60.0 00/0/0/00/00/0700/60.0
To do a complete race I would need to practice more on this track.

if somebody wants to compare:

i did 27 laps (= 50% race lenght) of the Österreichring in 38"57'737. I used the 1976 CarSet and I was driving for Mario Andretti. I drove with the keyboard, my aids were F2 and F6. It was in the Pro-Level and i finished 2nd +1'469 behind Lauda. My fastest lap was a 1"24'576.

dont you want to try your own setup?

okay, here is mine, but im not very patient in finding out a good one:

Old Zeltweg
=========
Frontwing: 8
Rearwing:2

Brakes: 44:56

Gears: 26/34/41/47/56/64

Front Left&Right: 20 / 1200 / 34.5mm
Rear Left&Right: 18 / 1000 / 56mm

Stabi Front&Rear: 0 Pfd/In

I did 1 Pitstop.

Note: I limited the pitlane at 100 km/h (i know that there was no limit in 1976, but its fair to the CC, they always have a speedlimit in it)

Good Luck. It was very funny. :D I think i could go 6-7 seconds faster, but there was traffic in some very fast corners, so i had to slow down... you know, racing problems...
