Omg. Stumbled across this today. Used to play this in the 90's.Loved how you could change tracks and cars. Can someone please send me a link or steer me in the right direction on how to get started, downloads and setup of the game. Tried going through the forum but will be here for weeks to try and find. Not to crash hot at computers so easier the better. I have given it a go myself on what I rembered years ago but nope, no good. Any help would be grateful :D :D :D :D :D So much want to get this up and running. PS be prepared for some questions. Cheers in advance

Welcome!

There are a bunch of tutorials in the tutorials section -> http://grandprix2.de/Anleitung/help.htm

I can't give a complete answer now but if you still need help during the week I will try to give a better reply.

I wrote some instructions in this post some time ago -> viewtopic.php?p=33955#p33955

Hello and welcome to the forum! Let me just add that there are more than 400 tracks available at this forum, so you can spend your lifetime trying them all :-) and this includes current and recent tracks, which are more realistic and detailed than the original tracks of the game! Have fun and good luck!

Thanks Guys. Can't wait.
So I have downloded GP2 no problems
Downloaded gp2nocd(1) extract and put into gp2 file
Downloaded Dos4gw extract and put into same file (GP2)
I see i have a dosbox.exe and a dosbox_x64.exe and a DOS4GW.exe
Using dosbox.exe and dosbox_x64.exe i get "divide by zero"
Using DOS4GW.exe i get "this app can't be used on your pc

Any suggestions guys??

Thanks

Can you show a picture of your GP2 folder (the folder containing GP2.exe)? Some people have experienced that "divide by zero" error at start up and think it is something related to the installation.

If you don`t already use it, I recomment D-Fend for easy start, especially if you want to have several ready to start seasons (teams, drivers, circuits, menu backgrounds, etc.) for GP2 like I have:

I also use GP2LAP for this, it makes the GP2-experience much better:

Important is to map a virtual drive:

Hope this helps or inspires a bit :)

Hm, if I remember right I also had problems when fiddling around with optimal graphic settings :-k

I exported dosbox.conf from D-FEND reloaded, maybe some settings there are usefull. Paths should be adapted and GP2LAP.EXE changed to GP2.EXE if you don`t use GP2LAP-Addon.

Hope this helps

I can't catch anything wrong. It may be a dosbox configuration problem like MaxX said or it may be something wrong with your installation. I never got to make dosbox 64bit work correctly with GP2, but it didn't give that error, it was only too slow.

Maybe try to use this GP2 package -> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qQhWQ ... 5B_n-vzN_C just extract it and play.

If you extract it directly to the root of your C drive, just go to C:\GP2\DOSBOX and run dosbox.exe. If you extract it to another folder, first go to the GP2/DOSBOX folder, edit the end of the dosbox.conf file to correct the path to your GP2 folder, save it and then run dosbox.exe.

If it works, then you can try it with D-Fend Reloaded or that Dosbox version you were trying before.

But if it is not an installation issue, you should be able to run the folder you already have with D-Fend.
