Re: steering wheel and grand prix 2
The Virtual Pilot Pro is a serial port or game port device. I think you should avoid using devices that connect using a serial port or game port. It's much easier to use a usb device in DOSBox. In most cases I can just plug in a usb gamepad and start DOSBox and then use whatever calibration menu is ...

Re: Wet races spray jam
It could very well be grip related. I've no experience in track design, but I'm thinking that since the programming for wet conditions in GP2 were unfinished maybe the cc cars have a problem dealing with these conditions at higher speeds. If grip is proportionately related to speed in GP2 that could...

Re: Wet races spray jam
Although I can't really answer as to the name of the file you're looking for, I did at one time have a Nurburgring track that had the effects you speak of. I was rather impressed because at the time I didn't think GP2 was capable of wet weather graphics but it drastically reduced the framerates runn...

Sportscar World Championship 1960's carset WIP
I'm trying to edit some carshapes to eventually put together a 1960's era SWC (or was it WSC?) carset. I modified an existing Mirage M1/GT40 carshape and then modified that result to try and make a more generic carshape that could be used to model other sportscars of that decade such as the Porsche ...

Re: Max/min num of teams/drivers_pitstop times_carshape edit
Thanks for the info. It's a bit disappointing but we can always hope that someone may one day find the hex values to change more stuff. I'm currently trying to put together a WSC 1960's/1970's era carset by modifying some 1967 sportscar carshapes I found on f1mania.net in the GP2 section. This is my...

Max/min num of teams/drivers_pitstop times_carshape editing
I have a few questions that I can't seem to find definitive answers for. 1. What is the maximum and minimum number of teams and drivers? I've seen 13, 14, and 20 for max number of teams but I'm not sure which is the correct number. 2. Can the pitstop times be increased or decreased? Seems to be stuc...

Re: Hello! A few questions: change color of cars? multiplaye
I think I see where I've been making my mistake. I haven't seen it documented anywhere yet, but I think all the cars and cockpits use a single universal palette. So, if I change a car or cockpit to a color that is not on the palette the result would be just what I had before - no change is shown in ...

Re: Hello! A few questions: change color of cars? multiplaye
If you're referring to 'MS Paint' in windows then I'll certainly give it a try. What do you mean by 'correct color palette' ? Do I need to separately save the palette of each car 256 bitmap image before I can change the color? Am I restricted to using only the colors on that palette or can I change ...

GP2 championship season tracks and drivers
I mentioned in an earlier post that I'm currently playing FK's Sportscar mod (1991). I'm trying to put together menu pics and tracks to get more of a WSC 1991 feel to the mod. Unfortunately there were only six races held for the 1991 season and there wasn't always a full grid. Is there some way to e...

Re: gp2 programs do not work with windows 8.1
You might be able to change the properties of GP2Edit to get it to run in 'compatabilty' mode by right clicking on it and selecting 'properties'. There might be a 'compatabilty' tab that will let you switch to older Windows modes like Win95 or Win98.

Hello! A few questions: change color of cars? multiplayer?
Hello all! It's good to see GP2 activity still on the net. As in a previous post from JoseFernandez I too have been playing F1GP since it came out in 1991. Ironically, I wasn't an F1 fan at all when I purchased the game for my Atari ST. I was an indycar fan that wanted something similar to the PC si...
