Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
Yes, these were the times when the cars looked very different. I think Ferrari & Ligier could use the same shape like McLaren. The middle part of the frontwings would be in aluminium colours like the front wing and then it would propably look quite okay. And the Brabham, well I think the March shap...

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
Starting again from stratch I have now the base for a generic shape and two liveries almost done (Mclaren and Lotus). As each car is so diferent from the others I'm letting some room for changes and improvements as I do the liveries, I'm not going too deep on details.. Also, I didn't work in the sec...

GP2 still accepts the low nose and the hight nose shape only.

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
Thank you Andreas! It could be far better, but I stopped improving it to make a more general shape. I've sent a mail to SDI to ask some info that may help us to do more things in the texture mapping. I still don't know if he'll be able to help, but he's already sent me some corrections on my post ab...

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
Maybe you could try to make the "front wing" a bit copped like the one on this screenshot: http://grandprix2.de/screens/BT52/BT52_8.gif If it doesn't have too bad influences on the bitmap of course. I think this would look cool! But in general the carshape looks already very nice, of course!!! =D> ...

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
I think it's how my March will look:
Now I'll try to create a general carshape to make the carset.

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
I've been playing with those textures again and now I have better understanding on the verticies. Take line 145 as in the picture on the tutorial. We have args= 0 12 2 0 0 9 1 f6 fe 41 0 96 ff 0 80 5f 0 0 0 and verticies= 265 -266 65 -106 -32768 95 Well, it's something like this: -The first argument...

Re: GP2 fans carset 2007
I've used the 2007 shape, becouse the car is based on modern cars (BAR and Prost 2002). I hope you don't mind.

Nice to see it have helped you!!
I've just forgotten to say in the tutorial the obvious thing. Save the carshape after everything is done, cause even if the Car Editor won't offer the functionality for us to edit these things, it patches GP2 with those informations when you export the shape.

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
here's the tutorial. It covers just how to get the effect. We still need to find out how to have good control over verticies and test, test, test. Them we can make a decent tutorial covering all things. This one is meant just as starting point for you guys.

Re: Missing topic: What are you listening right now?
Bruce rocks, I really prefer his solo stuff to some of the recent Maiden albums. Agreed! Anyway, I think A Matter of Life and Death is a great album, and The Longest Day is one of the best Maiden songs. From Bruce I like all albuns, except Tatooed Millionaire and Balls to Picasso Now listening Hell...

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
That's a pity. :? But when you paint the engine two times (one on the normal bitmap position), you could solve the problem. From the far sight you still see a black part and if you get the closer view you'll get to see the detailed part. When I get it under control I guess it would be a nice improv...

Re: March 761B - 1977 F1 carset - Texture Mapping
I don't know. I think this is more a shape problem then a texture problem, but we have to try it out. Find out something. As I was suspicious when we were talking about the desapearing building in my Croft track, in both cars and objects, when a poligon is supposed to be hidden in determined camera...
