Re: How to make a good competive AI together with chance to
What you're dealing with there is game balancing, which, as developers, reviewers and players out there should be well able to confirm is one of the most fragile elements of the whole thing. Keep in mind that different players have different ability, i.e. in this case not everyone's as fast (or slow...

Re: GP2 Lap not working
What do you mean by "the .exe is not named gp2.exe correctly?" Just to clarify this, if the game's .exe file would, for whatever reason, have any other name than gp2.exe, this error would come up. RacerBG has mentioned another possibility for the error that I didn't think of when I responded - you ...

Re: GP2 Lap not working
Welcome aboard, first of all. The two nearest possibilities I could think of would be that the .exe is not named gp2.exe correctly (if it's got any other name, gp2lap will abort with just that error message) - or the file might be corrupted for some reason. Doest the game launch correctly if you run...

For a little feeling of nostalgia, whether you've played it or whether it just reminds you of other stuff you might have played in 1992, I would recommend a look at this little video snippet:

Re: Carset Problem
It's worth pointing out, I think, also, that the model to display the cars in GP2Edit is always the standard one, regardless of what the shape the game currently uses might look like. So if the shape in the editor is always the same, that's the old-fashioned feature instead of a bug.

Re: F1GP Talk
I remember this came out just a few years before "fotorealistic" was used in gaming magazine tests for racing titles. Now, maybe that was a little optimistic at that time, still... On a serious note, the game's Monza track did have a rather weird-seeming slow exit to the Ascari chicane. It was a bra...

In the unlikely case you guys haven't seen this yet, here's onboard footage of the new Pikes Peak record drive that left me as a self-proclaimed seasoned racing enthusiast gasp for air a few times:

Re: Two Fans carsets this year - F1 Fans carset 2011
Until now, I hadn't realised we have a handy file attachment feature here in the forum, so here's my contribution to this year's formula carset, satisfyingly design-baked as far as I'm concerned.

Re: F1 season 2011
Generally speaking: What a race! There were two interesting points to be seen. One is the safety car duration, where I'd totally be with you guys that it looked as if it should have been possible to go racing proper earlier after the restart. The other thing was that, in my opinion, this track helpe...

Re: GP2 Fans Carset 2011 - touring cars
In the interest of simplicity, I'd keep the numbers I had last year. AD2011 would "enter" a Volvo C30.

Re: 24h Le Mans 2011
What an amazing Le Mans weekend once again. Just to see the cornering speeds of those LMP cars from the onboard cameras alone was fascinating for me. Great also to see a closely matched contest between Audi and Peugeot with two new cars basically at the same point in the development cycle. The major...

Re: F1 season 2011
Very entertaining to watch today, as well, even with that longer rain interruption. Really interesting to watch how the drivers coped (or tried to ) with the conditions changing several times -- and to have a position change for the win on the last lap was icing on the cake.

Re: 24h Le Mans 2011
Very lucky photographers right behind the barrier there, amazing if everyone there is completely all right. This could quite easily have turned out much worse, if the car had somehow flipped across the barrier.

Re: Shaky car?
First of all, welcome on board! The first thing that came to my mind when I read your description was, are you absoluely sure you are driving on the track with all four wheels? It would be very easy to experience just this effect by accidentally putting two wheels of the car past the white line. If ...

Re: Shall we make a GP2 Fans Carset 2011?
I think it would be a great idea to spice things up a little like this. Not really concerned I couldn't bring what idea I had for my car to a different shape.
