Re: Two CC-Line?

For a new driving simulation, implementing a track AI that can use multiple predefined lines through a corner might be an interesting idea. It would be a different process, though, than just defining a cc line and having all cars basically follow that line unless they're being lapped or have to defe...

Re: F1 season 2011

Well, I saw a lot of unnecessary collisions today... every year at Monaco, there's still going to be someone expecting someone with doubtful rear visibility half a car length ahead to glitch through the barrier with the two outer wheels or something like that, wondering why there's upsetting front w...

Re: What If.....

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding the idea, but what additional functionality should this provide? You already are swapping basically all of the stuff relevant to a carset by exporting out of GP2Edit, don't you? The only minor inconvenience I'd see is that you have to export the carshape out of CarEdi...

Re: A new track ?

One can definitely still expect to be surprised by the members of this community. Impressive work and a very fun track to drive. It's very interesting, as well, if you live close to the ring or can at least get to it with acceptable resources, to try to find and explore what's now left of this track...

Re: Shall we make a GP2 Fans Carset 2011?

I'm going to take part once again. In fact, I'm already done with the graphics I need. New livery and helmet design alltogether. :)

Re: 24h Le Mans 2011

I'm looking forward to this race each year these days. Never have been there, but hope that, someday, I will.

Re: GP2 better than GP3 or GP4

I'm still enjoying both the even-numbered titles. I find it amazing to see what amount of detail good modders can put into either game. The main difference from that point of view seems to be that things progressed so far graphically that creating high-quality stuff for GP4 needs more resources and ...

Re: FK's sportscar project

You could even argue that as there don't seem to be any flip-overs of cars in the game, a fin that was, in reality, conceived to lessen the likelihood of such an accident under certain circumstances isn't "necessary", anyway. :) Many interesting pictures from the Le Mans test. Some modifications to ...

Re: F1 season 2011

The Red Bull seems the best car at the moment. If you just take a look at qualifying times today, it seems as if the McLaren drivers were well into their car's potential with the 1:34s they did, in Q1 and Q2, Vettel just matched their times, however, when it was all about pole position in the last s...

Re: F1 season 2011

I was kind of dreading some crazy-rain-red-flagging today, but obviously no torrential downpours during the race. What I found very interesting to see was the different kinds of drivers (and cars) getting to work with the tyres -- the times differed quite a bit there. Nice to see the Renault drivers...

Re: GP2 Copyrights

First of all, welcome! We actually talked about this before here (I had to look it up to confirm it was actually in 2007 ). I don’t see any significant changes since then. While the original MicroProse developer studio (which made the games way back when) may not exist anymore, ownership of intell...

Re: Is there exist anyway to convert GP2 shapes into GP3?

It might not be impossible, but the graphics engine used for GP3 uses 3D models with more polygons, allowing more detailed shapes, so any exact re-creation (or conversion) of what's top of the line for GP2 standards would, I think, look substandard and out of place within that game. The more practic...

Re: F1 season 2011

I actually like those tongue-in-cheek-like placeholders for where sponsors could advertise.

Notably, they're also going for a "compromise" shark fin here, like the RB7, leaving out the connection to the rear wing which is no longer allowed under the current rules.

Re: Go, Robert!

To have even the prospect of a full recovery, after such an accident, is good, good news. In the reflection of it, I think, as you're saying, Antonio, this could be another event in a row that will either support the teams that already don't allow their drivers to take part in any other competition,...

Re: Go, Robert!

Hopefully, the kinds of rumours that are obviously floating around by now are not going to be confirmed. It would be sad to see any kind of development that could lead to him not driving a race car anymore. I'm hoping he can heal and recover from this, even if at this point, close to the beginning o...
