Re: Car physics
Hello and welcome! For some reason I didn't noticed your post before. Maybe because I don't have an answer, sorry :( I think there's really a ceiling within the game that it's not possible to overcome, regarding the roll over of cars in crashes. Don't know about any editor that can make it happen. T...

Re: I can't install
Hello and welcome! Yes, download from an abandonware site would be easier. I don't have a CD reader in my laptop and when I reinstalled GP2 it had to be that way. I use D-Fend Reloaded to manage DosBOX in Windows 8.1, but some guys here (I think) are able to run and manage DosBOX without D-Fend Relo...

Re: Fictional 2021 carset
By now the carset is outdated! That was before Alonso's announcement at Renault. Now it doesn't seem feasible that he could set up his own team. But there was a hint of truth regarding that Alonso Campos Racing team: https://www.camposracing.com/news-room/getting-ready-for-a-new-f1-entry. You said e...

Re: Grand Prix 2020 version
Hello Carles, I have my own list of tracks, although I didn't compile it as a trackpack (I'm not sure if zip format would do. Please note that although I'm a frequent commentator here, I have limited modding skills). I'm quite lazy regarding Magic Data. I always follow the slot suggestion given by t...

Re: Lewis Hamilton equals Schumacher and mentions...
A big smile, for sure! Hamilton has previously mentioned that he used to play as Kimi in PlayStation, but playing GP2 is new, as far as I know. It's those things that you can't just make up. Add to this the fact that Jacques Villeneuve always mentioned learning the tracks in 1996 in a computer game....

Re: strange - "100" brake markers just dissapeared after practice?
That idea also works for the beyond awful Barcelona 94 (or was it 95?) chicane. :D :D good idea, indeed 8) although that would take the simulation all too close to reality for our taste. Personally I'm glad that Microprose did not try to emulate the 1994-only versions of Barcelona, Montreal and Spa...

Re: strange - "100" brake markers just dissapeared after practice?
I'm pretty sure I've seen this bug before. I don't remember in which track, but I've seen it too. i don't know why, but this thread brought me a wacky idea for a track: a Monza 1996 version, with those piles of tires in the Rettifilio chicanes, that lead to Damon Hill's DNF and Jacques Villeneuve 7t...

Nurburgring 2003
Hello all, and specifically RRemédio,
I was thinking that you did a cc-line update for the Andreas Schulz Nurburgring 2003 track. Do you confirm or did I dream this?
Thanks

I also use 4 fuel laps for qualifying and I also noted that AI cars were failing to do both sessions. Thanks a lot for this thread!

Re: Jacarepaguá track pit lane issue
I'm terrible and lazy for Magic Data editing. I created an Excel file with a tracklist where I keep a column with the slot recommendation (that comes in the TXT with every track) and I always follow it, unless there is none - or unless our Magician Data Specialist include the option to load Magi Dat...

Re: Grand Prix 2020 version
This is just a renewed thanks and compliment to Thomas Kost and Roberto Remedio for making and delivering the Portimão track that, against my own expectations, is going to receive F1 this season.

Polar moment of inertia of current F1 cars
I was watching the 2 spins by Alex Albon and the crash by Danny Ric on the free practice of the Styrian Grand Prix and I got wondering. I did not study Physics nor Engineering, but I follow F1 and car racing for some time now, so it's almost the same  The polar moment of inertia is that concept...

Re: Perfect Grand Prix Track Pack and Game Edit
As I said elsewhere, I think the work developed by the track designers in this forum is amazing and we now reached a level where the latest tracks (by Antonio Pessoa, for instance, but RRemedio and others too) are more realistic that those of the original game. There are lots of hours of work, exper...
