Re: A new track ?

Adverts and trees are the most boring parts when building a track imo :D

Can't wait for Nurburgring!

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Yes it seems difficult to touch the GP2's code or Gp2lap. Your implementations are awesome. Do you think it would be possible to insert pictures of drivers or Tv style 2019 (or older) with your GP2 overlay? Well, GP2Lap is now open source. We just need a talented coder to join us :D I tried to make...

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Nice! Personally I would rather have tires that move (like ICR2 has) instead, but that's really awesome. They are on my wishlist, together with moving suspension. They are a bit more tricky because we need to draw a full cockpit since the suspension and the tires must be drawn behind the cockpit (i...

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Very nice news! When you talk about pit strategies do you think it would be possible to assign different tyres strategies for each drivers? No. I think that would be possible with GP2Lap, maybe. My program can monitor and change some values in real time, but for different tyres it would require som...

GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

This is a very old project. I haven't updated it in the past 1-2 years because my initial idea of hacking DosBOX opengl or directx calls to put graphics in the game wasn't working very well. But recently I learned how to create an overlay window attached to a program and decided to give it a shot (r...

Re: A new track ?

eky78 kindly sent me another Hockenheim version (by Azat Moukhamedianow) and after comparing the two I notice not only t1 was wrong in the AAS/Alex track but both tracks have shorter layouts compared to the real-life one (Azat's one is closer to the real track, tho), which means another update would...

Re: A new track ?

You are probably right. I just assumed this layout was from 2010.

Re: A new track ?

Hockenheim update Layout for turn 1 is wrong but I didn't fix it. I tried to make it a bit more realistic by messing with the track width but it would be much better to fix the layout (and it will require another ccline update, and some graphical fixes). To compensate for that I updated a few textu...

Re: A new track ?

=) The "fantasy" layout was actually a proposed layout from the early 2000s and it was bound to be the next Silverstone layout when John Edwards built the GP2 track. But they abandoned the idea for a while and a modified version of it ended up being the one they actually built into the track. And Jo...

Re: A new track ?

And another one:

Silverstone 2010. Based on the fantasy 2003 track by John Edwards and AAS. 2010 layout with 2003 graphics.

Again, far from perfect, but a good deal for 4 hours of work =)

Re: Formula 3 carsets and packages

Some improvements on the Dallara F-312 shape still in use in the Euroformula Open. f312.jpg I'm also working on better shapes for the F-317 (latest pre-2019 Dallara F3 model) and the Tatuus F3 T-318 (currently used in the new "Regional F3" regulation as in Formula Regional European, F3 Asian Champio...

Re: grand prix2 .de not refreshed

AAS is the one who owns and updates grandprix2.de. I haven't heard from him in a while, I tried to contact him a few times this year with no reply (and his old mailbox is down). Hopefully, he is just busy and he will come back eventually.

Re: Formula 3 carsets and packages

I decided to also make a "real" F3 carset. The most interesting of the current series seems to be the Euroformula Open (sorry, FIA. Your official FIA F3 is not real F3) which still uses the Dallara F312 and had 21 drivers in the first race of the 2019 season. I made a better carshape (it looks more ...

Re: GP2 Season Patcher (GP2SP)

Yeah, except for the new "Acceleration" option for low power carsets, it won't fix anything the Slot and Tyre Editor can't fix. Think of it as a tool to batch install many files edited with the Slot and Tyre editor (and the track editor) at once, that way you could make a package with the .dat files...

Re: GP2 Season Patcher (GP2SP)

The main feature is being able to share season data (track .dat files, magic data and physics) and install them with a single click. This because when you install a carset that has different settings from original gp2 (car power, car weight, grip) and when you install different tracks or change trac...
