Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

Thnx for sharing the tracks.

I finished a 100% race at interlagos.
Everything worked like a charm.

a 25% race.
I plan on doing a 100% race on it soon.
Anything particular you want me to look at?

*edit* do you also have a phoenix track available?

Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

I used the interlagos94 track and it is really impressive.

At a certain point during the race, I felt like playing GP3 in software mode.

Re: x86GP2 - Native GP2 on Windows

The physics and AI should be the same. Old replays work and they are physic-replays so they shouldn't work if the physics were different. Having said that it is suspiciously easy to drive! But imo it doesn't feel different. It's a very odd feeling. It's the same old game, but somehow you're just wa...

Re: x86GP2 - Native GP2 on Windows

A few questions about this mod which I really love so far: Did it change the car physics? It seems to drive so easy and it seems like the curbs are way more forgiving. I really can attack them agressively. Did the mod change the strength of the AI? And is it build with having david coulthard replace...

Re: x86GP2 - Native GP2 on Windows

What a great project this is! all my respect. I tried it but I can't get past the start warning screen. I'm unable to click 'ok' with my mouse. I can do right click and summon the options menu. Any tips? Also, you need to use the gp2 us version. I tried the european or Uk version first and it gave a...

Fuel settings for quick races

I noticed that when I started a quick race of 4 laps on interlagos, I only had fuel for 5 laps. Doesn't gp2 normally add a safety margin of 2 laps of fuel? So it should be fuel for 6 laps. I checked gp2edit and my quickrace length setting is 5%. When I up the quickrace length, the fuel is not automa...

Are you sure you have the most "recent" version installed? Should be this one https://grandprix2.de/Util/gp2edit/gp2edit.html

Also make sure when you export the carset to tick all the Car Set Datas.

I hope it gets solved
Thanks for the info. all good now.
Great mod.

Re: New tracks & carsets - Michael82

Very nice 1994 mod. I really love it.

I do have one issue though: when using this mod, the numbers on the cars are not shown. Instead I see some kind of blurry square where the number should be.

Anybody else have this visual issue?

Re: GP2 & suspension set up

I think the softer rear suspension allows you for taking the turn before the long straight without lifting. I always take it without lifting. I also want stiffer suspension in the front to be able to lower the car more. The 1500 in the front works good for me. Regarding wings, I do the same. front w...

Re: GP2 & suspension set up

I'm driving Australia now.
My suspension set up is 1500 lb/in at the front and 1100 lb/in at the back.
This seems to work although I think it is a rather stiff suspension.
I would think it needs to be softer as there are a lot of slow left right corners at the beginning of the track.

Re: Grip: two issues

Again very interesting insights!
@TdK:
I was also curious if the random grip worked both ways. (positive and negative)
How did you come to this conclusion?
I'm definitely interested in some carsets with updated performance data.

GP2 & suspension set up

Anybody tips on which circuits benefit from stiff suspension and which benefit from soft suspension?
I just don't know when to set up a hard or soft suspension.

Re: Grip: two issues

@RRemedio,

Can you also elaborate on this multiplier for bhp?
What does it do?

Re: Grip: two issues

Thanks @RRemedio for the insight. One thing I still don't understand is the problem of calculating grip. What does it have to do with bhp? As I set grip, I use the value 16384 for the best driver and work my way down for the next best driver and so on. The BHP of the cars, I try to set them as they ...
