Re: freeDOS
Nice, I'd love to see how it compares with dosbox emulation. It might be a reverse placebo but dosbox never felt 100% right to me. I could be totally wrong though. This is what I'm after as well. I always felt a slight input lag on DOSBox, that's no longer there when you run the game natively on x8...

Re: freeDOS
Funny you should ask, I currently have a project where I'm trying to build a DOS PC to test GP2 and ICR2. The PC is old enough to support the original MS DOS 6.22 (it's a workstation from 2006) but there are still big issues and they're all about the sound. Internal Realtek sound is not supported by...

Re: x86GP2 - Native GP2 on Windows
A few questions about this mod which I really love so far: Did it change the car physics? It seems to drive so easy and it seems like the curbs are way more forgiving. I really can attack them agressively. Did the mod change the strength of the AI? And is it build with having david coulthard replac...

Re: x86GP2 - Native GP2 on Windows
It's a real shame you can't register here. Jake from GPLaps contacted me, he was also trying to register. This mod is now drawing a lot of attention here. rremedio, do you know if the admins are totally inactive / disappeared and do we have any hope to get it fixed? Also, this message below is a mes...

Re: GP2 in 51fps!
I Copied yours Ted, changed the bottom bit for the GP2Lap.exe (same as I currently use for DosBox ECE but still get this error... Any advice anyone????? Can you check the line "memsize" in the config file? I think by default it should be 16, which should be enough, but you could try 32 and see if t...

Re: GP2 in 51fps!
Hi guys - Michael THANK YOU so much for this and to you Ted but guys, when I follow the steps, I get this... Any suggestions??? Joey Did you get the game running with the original config file? If you did, then I'd use that and just make the changes to dos_rate and host_rate as in my video. Also I u...

Re: GP2 in 51fps!
I tried to comment on your youtube but I think youtube is censoring things. Does staging take care of the game playing too fast? This was the main reason I switched to ECE years ago. Oh, sorry if you got censored some how. But the answer is yes, the emulation speed in Staging seems to be correct. P...

Re: GP2 in 51fps!
Excellent, thank you once again Michael! Finally had some time today to try it out.... and all your settings worked just like you said they would!
I also put together a brief tutorial and it's here in case someone will find it helpful:

Re: GP2 in 51fps!
Brilliant work, thanks for sharing! I got it working, very smooth and lovely. I only tested it by watching AI drivers so don't know how steering lag is.
Also I see you had vsync disabled and on your video there was a lot of screen tearing? Might I ask why? Did you get input lag with vsync?

Re: Experience with thrustmaster ts pc racer or certain fanatec wheel/paddle combinations?
Thanks guys. I've been tinkering with the steering wheel settings forever with GP2 and now that it's finally somewhat perfect I'm glad to share the results in case someone finds it helpful. It's astonishing how enjoyable it is to drive now! Still wondering if I was the only one with the wheel resolu...

Re: Experience with thrustmaster ts pc racer or certain fanatec wheel/paddle combinations?
I'm going to answer to myself here because I found a solution \:D/ So I was using DOSBox SVN Daum and with that the wheel resolution was very low. Same problem with the standard DOSBox 0.75. Today I found this topic and went on and tried DOSBox ECE. And what do you know, now I get like 200 + 200 (or...

Re: Experience with thrustmaster ts pc racer or certain fanatec wheel/paddle combinations?
I can confirm that at least Thrustmaster T500 RS works quite fine with the game (as shown in my videos). I've also had feedback that people have been able run the game with other Thrustmaster wheels and also with Logitech G29. With Fanatec I'm not so sure, recently someone complained how Fanatec CSL...
