Re: Track types to set brake balance back / front
Thanks a lot, made sense and helped a lot. I managed to cut a whole second off my lap time in Canada.

Track types to set brake balance back / front
Hi All, Another question, this time setup related. So far I have had good success in creating my own setups and fine tuning them. However, one aspect I cannot really understand is brake balance. I know that in theory, you should set your brake balance so that both rear and front wheels lock up at th...

Re: "snap oversteer" on corners that have height transitions
I can add that I developed a setup for Barcelona (original) which is incredibly good regarding lap times (historically, I used to struggle at Barcelona, so I was very happy when I achieved that). The car is also quite comfortable in almost every corners, either braking and turning. But I can't cut ...

Re: What technical problems causes AI to retire?
I haven't paid that close attention to this but I suggest looking at the next car you see on fire when they are racing. I think they always retire when they start on fire when on the track. I think that I have seen examples of AI going to pits and repairing smoking engine - on the other hand it was...

What technical problems causes AI to retire?
Hi All, I have been running 100% races on Ace and noticed that sometimes AI does not retire when they get a technical problem - instead they pit and fix the problem. Not really an issue, since player can do the same. However, sometimes AI either does not go to pits or does not make it and retires. I...

Re: Experience with thrustmaster ts pc racer or certain fanatec wheel/paddle combinations?
Thank you both for the replies. I'm already familiar with the video about racing GP2 with a modern wheel. The question really is if it's possible with the exact wheels I mentioned. I'm a little afraid that when I buy an expensive wheel like the ones I mentioned, I can't play GP2 in a proper way... ...

Re: Experience with thrustmaster ts pc racer or certain fanatec wheel/paddle combinations?
I have actually been considering of purchasing a cheap joystick to play GP2. Purely a retro decision, since this is how I played this in the 90s. Would be nice to get into the same feeling. The developers were also thinking of playing with joystick when designing the game, joystick use is mentioned ...

GP2 edit questions
Hi all, Thanks for everybody for the help on my previous questions. I have a couple of new ones though, since there is a lot to learn. In GP2edit, how is the car technical failure rate calculated? The number values seem to go from 0-16000. However, if I want to have a team with a 50% technical failu...

Re: Non-championship races vs. championship difference
It works similarly to the Random Grip Range but it affects the car power and you can't change the actual range. When turned on, a small random value will be subtracted from the power of each car. The grip variation works the same but it is always turned on, it doesn't affect the player's cars and y...

Re: Non-championship races vs. championship difference
About the Random Power Variation, most people will leave it off because it makes the performances between teams less reliable. It is a way of GP2 simulating the fact that some cars will run better in some tracks than in others, but it isn't very well done. But anyway, leaving it on won't bring any ...

Thanks a lot for rremedio for clarification and GP2tifoso28 for spending time to test this! A time worth spending IMO, helped us other guys out with this! =D> Should the guide on how to reset the seed be added into a sticky or something? That way new users would find the info easily. Also, GP2tifoso...

Re: Does anyone run Ace level with keyboard?
In a book published at the time, Jacques Villeneuve mentioned that in his first F1 season (1996), as he didn't know the circuits due to his North America career, and long before modern simulators, he used videogames to learn some tracks. He just didn't mention if it was GP2. I totally agree, this i...
