This is finicky for me as well. But normally I open and save a track in the track editor and it starts working in the game.

Isn't a cockpit really 2 parts of information?

1 is the actual graphics itself
2 is the layout, or CPD info?

I assume you re-loaded the second part?

That's the weirdest thing, I wish I could help you. Do you keep backups of your game folder?

yeah the vanilla montreal was really bad because the chicane was so fast on the back side. Probably the next worst track is Spa with the bus stop chicane being way to fast as well. We already have a good Monaco now.

Well, I thought my "career" in GP2 track editing would be in a temporary break for a while, but I was wrong. I had a lot of unfinished works from the years of the covid-19 pandemic (2020-2021), when I started to edit a lot of tracks, breaking and resuming dependig the lockdown degree on those times...

yes - the magic data is the only thing that affects slots, your thinking is correct

I would love to learn how to make gp2 tracks because the experts on the forum seem to do this quicker than I could ever do an icr2 track - I think the gp2 editor is probably more powerful and automated. How much easier is it in gp2 to make a similar layout once you get a certain version of a track right? I know in ICR2 it saves a ton of work when you go from one version to another as long as they are close.

Montreal is one of those tracks that changed layouts like I change my socks. Seems every few years there was a change. I am doing Long Beach for ICR2 now.
