Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Yeah, there is a config file where you set the drs zones (each one consisting of the check point where it checks if the car is 1s or less from the car ahead, the point where drs can be activated and the point where it must be deactivated) and you can have multiple zones for each track. I've been rea...

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

How coool. Do you think that is possible not even assign different tyre strategy to each AI but force them to use multiple tyre compound? Did you really imolement DRS? You are really cool man gp2 is awesome! No. For now, we are stuck with 1 compound all cars. Maybe it could be changed with GP2Lap o...

Re: teach me about packers

I am trying to use packers successfully. I am racing at the original Germany track in GP2. The straights are long and fast. I am reaching 206mph, and of course the rear wing is set to 1. I started off by looking at the place where the car is the lowest (right before the entrance to the first chican...

Re: halo cockptit

It should be possible from cockpit view. Just need to draw it into the cockpit image (the one you see in the "Cockpit design" window, in GP2Edit). Putting a very ugly version of it into the carshape should be possible by editting points and vertexes (probably from the front suspension), but it would...

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Thanks guys! I hoped to make progress this weekend but I got carried away with other stuff and I needed some rest. Next weekend, hopefully.

Re: A new track ?

Adverts and trees are the most boring parts when building a track imo :D

Can't wait for Nurburgring!

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Yes it seems difficult to touch the GP2's code or Gp2lap. Your implementations are awesome. Do you think it would be possible to insert pictures of drivers or Tv style 2019 (or older) with your GP2 overlay? Well, GP2Lap is now open source. We just need a talented coder to join us :D I tried to make...

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Nice! Personally I would rather have tires that move (like ICR2 has) instead, but that's really awesome. They are on my wishlist, together with moving suspension. They are a bit more tricky because we need to draw a full cockpit since the suspension and the tires must be drawn behind the cockpit (i...

Re: GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

Very nice news! When you talk about pit strategies do you think it would be possible to assign different tyres strategies for each drivers? No. I think that would be possible with GP2Lap, maybe. My program can monitor and change some values in real time, but for different tyres it would require som...

GP2 Overlay - Rotating steering wheels and more

This is a very old project. I haven't updated it in the past 1-2 years because my initial idea of hacking DosBOX opengl or directx calls to put graphics in the game wasn't working very well. But recently I learned how to create an overlay window attached to a program and decided to give it a shot (r...

Re: A new track ?

eky78 kindly sent me another Hockenheim version (by Azat Moukhamedianow) and after comparing the two I notice not only t1 was wrong in the AAS/Alex track but both tracks have shorter layouts compared to the real-life one (Azat's one is closer to the real track, tho), which means another update would...

You are probably right. I just assumed this layout was from 2010.

Re: A new track ?

Hockenheim update Layout for turn 1 is wrong but I didn't fix it. I tried to make it a bit more realistic by messing with the track width but it would be much better to fix the layout (and it will require another ccline update, and some graphical fixes). To compensate for that I updated a few textu...
