Re: [WALL OF TEXT WARNING] My "fake Formula 3" season pack

Amazing! Thank you very much! For obvious reasons, after developing a fake Formula 4 carset, I'll be among the most interested users of this. Nice! Thanks! Now that I have a Season working, I'm gonna try and finish the Season Patcher so it becomes easier to install and then I'm gonna get back into ...

Re: [WALL OF TEXT WARNING] My "fake Formula 3" season pack

I made the car taller now while keeping the other sizes. It is too big compared to the real car but it looks better now.

Re: [WALL OF TEXT WARNING] My "fake Formula 3" season pack

Download v-0.3 Installation: 1 - Export carset and carshape 2 - Set your GP2 to use the .dat files from the Circuits folder inside the download zip by editing GP2Lap.cfg or creating a copy of each file, putting them in your GP2/Circuits folder and renaming them F1ct01.dat, F1ct02.dat etc... 3 - Wit...

[WALL OF TEXT WARNING] My "fake Formula 3" season pack

EDIT: Updates on post 2 A boring wall of text. So recently I stumbled upon a weird offset in gp2.exe which gave me some hope on beating my old foe: the fact that the ccs accelerate so slowly out of low speeds when you use a low powered carset (and it is worse as you lower the car power). The offset...

Re: the flow of time in gp2

Do either of you that use dosbox SVN DAUM use a steering wheel and pedals? If so, did you have similar problems? what wheel and pedals do you use? I use the keyboard only for gp2 (I never liked driving with the steering wheel in GPx games like I do with newer sims). I have an old logitech momo I'll...

Re: the flow of time in gp2

I can confirm that.

I've been using DOSBox SVN Daum but I didn't think it made any difference. After installing the standard DosBox version, I get the same timing problems.

Re: "bumps" on gp2 tracks?

That's very high. Most F1 tracks will stay between 0-2 but Detroit was indeed very bumpy so I'd say 4-5 is about right, but on the other hand, I think the effect provided may be exaggerated so maybe it is too much. I used 4 in the bumpy sections of my Leipzig track to simulate sections that are not...

Re: A new track ?

Yeah, I think there is no version of that layout with good ccline (they are not so bad, but could be improved a lot). I'm doing updates when I want to use a particular track (not Estoril's case) and the ccs won't behave correctly, but I'll keep Estoril in mind for when I find some free time without ...

Re: "bumps" on gp2 tracks?

There are some drastic bumps created by track geometry and there is also the "bump table" which sets the "bumpness" for the track surface. On the Track Editor you will find the table under Track Config -> Various Data Blocks. Scroll down until you get to the Bump Table Data. Picture attached. bumps....

Re: "snap oversteer" on corners that have height transitions

I don't remember having a hard time with that particular corner but I experience the same thing in several custom tracks when there is gradient change in the middle of a curve (both uphill and downhill). The "Monza" corner in Jarama is one of the worst. I try to use soft rear springs when the track ...

Re: the flow of time in gp2

I can't see anything wrong. I even tried your settings file and the timer worked perfectly here so I don't know how you can fix it ](*,)

Re: the flow of time in gp2

Frameskip is zero, in-menu game FPS is max at 25.6. I spent a few hours over the weekend testing different settings but the results are consistent on every track. With Magic data timing values set at 16384 (nominal) 1m0S of real time = about 1m16s of GP2 time. I think something is off with your Dos...

Re: the flow of time in gp2

I guess that's a tricky one. I made the same test at Montreal with timing 16384 and it ran exactly the correct time. I remember when changing from Win98 to WinXP and it ruined the timing completely. Since most of us run it in DosBox I guess differences can happen from system to system. The only in-g...
