* Installation *
1.
(if you already have new tracks on the game jump to STEP 2):
patch the game with a util that obliges the game to read the tracks
from the harddisk. These utils are gp2nocd or trakonhd.
Search for one of them on the net and install it. This program will
create a new directory called "circuits": you have to copy there
ALL the 16 track files (F1ct01, F1ct02...........F1ct16)

2.
Place the 'pricar19' directory from the ZIP file into the Gp2 'gamejams' directory. Run the convert.exe.

3.
Place the Paul Ricard_France_2019.dat file in the circuits directory. It runs the best in slot 07, others slots was not tested.

4.
Start Gp2 and drive...........

HISTORY OF PAUL RICARD:
Built from 1969 to 1970, and opened in April 19th, 1970, Circuit Paul Ricard and its facilities was acclaimed as the most modern racing circuit in the World from its opening and during the 1970s. A tycoon of alcoholic beverages, Paul Ricard, was the entrepreneur behind the construction of that state-of-the-art 5.8 kms circuit in Southern France. Circuit Paul Ricard, in Le Castellet (near Marseille, Toulon and the Cte-d'Azur), with a long 1.8 km straightway (Mistral), fast turns like Vierriere, Signes and Le Beausset quickly joined the schedule of the main motorsports series in early 1970s, as well the 1971 French Grand Prix. A favourite circuit around drivers and teams by its modern facilities, a airport just beside the circuit, and so many runoff areas around the track made Paul Ricard the World's safest racing circuit during the 1970s and early 1980s. The safer and wide runoff areas of Paul Ricard became a reference for new racing circuits emerging in the 1970s. However, the circuit became somekind "older" during the 1980s, as the speed of Formula One cars increased dramatically during the Turbo-era. In 1985 French GP qualify, the time gap between the fastest turbo and the slowest normally-aspirated cars was around 13 seconds, and more than 50 km/h of difference in the long 1.8 km Mistral straight. Some no-serious accidents happened on that weekend, injuried Nigel Mansell and spetacularly taking a young Ayrton Senna out of the race after a puncture on fast Signes turn, all those incidents made clear the potential risks of a circuit with such long 1.8 km straightway, and some demands for shortening Mistral straight was in discussion after 1985.
In May 1986 Formula One was again in Paul Ricard for testing, and Italian driver Elio de Angelis lost the rear wing of his low-heighted Brabham BT55 in Verriere turn (the circuits' first turn, a fast Esse), crashing violently against the guard-rail, flipping over it, lying upside down behind the guard-rail, and the BMW turbo engine catch fire. De Angelis had no serious injuries in the impact, but he could't get out of the upside down car, due the low height of it. The fire on turbo engine intoxicated De Angelis during the long time he had wait for track marshalls, and he died the following day. The fast Verriere esse, the lack of track marshalls in a testing session and the turbo engines was guilt for De Angelis' death. As a reponse to that tragedy, Circuit Paul Ricard was shortened in June 1986, weeks before the 1986 French GP. A new 3.8 km circuit had a shortened Mistral straight as well, producing safer Formula One races for the following years. The turbo engines was banned in late 1988.
During those years, French laws became more rigid towards tobacco and alcoholic beverages, forbidding advertising and sponsorship in French soil. Since Circuit Paul Ricard had a strong tie with a alcoholic beverages brand, also had some safety issues few years before and a further more modern circuit was going to open in central France, the French Grand Prix moved from Paul Ricard to Magny-Cours for 1991.
During the 1990s, Paul Ricard held some Motorcycle French GP, and even some winter Formula One tests up to the mid of the decade. After financial problems, and the death of the founder Paul Ricard in 1997, the circuit was sold to Bernie Ecclestone and partners in 1999, who revamped the circuit facilities and the runoff areas in 2000, making Paul Ricard even more modern than was in the past, but essentially for car and bike testing during the 2000s. On that 1999-2000 revamping, the old sand runoff areas was replaced by tarmac, painted in blue and black stripes. After a decade helding just tests of motorsports series, in 2010 Paul Ricard was back again in the schedule of several International series. During the early 2010s, grew the rumors about the return of Formula One to Paul Ricard, since the series was away from France since 2008 when the country held the last race in Magny-Cours. After years of negotiations, mainly because the funding of the future French GP, the return of Formula One was announced in late 2016 to occur in June 2018. The Formula 1 French Grand Prix was back again after 28 years, and the GP2 community deserved since many time a more recent version of Paul Ricard! And here is!
