Description	: Aruba Motorsports Complex was a project for a permanent racing circuit in Caribbean island of Aruba, formely part of the Netherlands Antilles, very near the Venezuelan coast. Former Miami Grand Prix and Homestead-Miami Speedway entepreneur Ralph Snchez was the man behind that Aruban circuit project. Alongside some partners, they set a deal for the construction of the circuit beside the Carribbean Sea, in the far south part of Aruba, in Seroe Colorado, near Sint Nicolaas. Aruba circuit had the intention to join the 2001 CART FedEx Championship (Indycar), and CART officials made an announcement alongside Snchez in September 1999. Another American racing series, like American Le Mans Series and Trans-Am also had intentions to go to Aruba in late 2000 or early 2001. The circutit had a date for its opening: October 2000.
However, disagreements between promoter Snchez and the Government of Aruba in early 2000 led the plans for the construction of the circuit to a break, and the works actually never started. The plans for Aruba Motorsports Complex was completely abandoned in some time around the 2nd half of 2000, and the following years were a juridical battle between the promoter and the island's government for financial issues around the planned circuit.
Despite the gloomy end of Aruba circuit project, the 2.7 miles (4.35 kms) track would be interesting and beautiful for Indycar (ChampCar) racing in early 2000s. The real terrain has downhills and uphills, just beside the sea and a lighthouse behing the main grandstand, which would use a hill for its construction.
