Description : Sandown Park opened in 1962, located in Melbourne suburbs. After two decades as one of the most important permanent race venues of Australia, it was revamped in 1984 previously to the first World Endurance Championship (and a FIA World Championship series of any type) to be held in Australia. In December 2nd 1984 the sport-prototypes as the iconic Porsches 962 and 956 raced in Sandown Park. For that race, the circuit layout was changed, including a new turn 1, a chicane before the tight turn 3, a new sector of turns inside the hypodrome, and the final chicane. This new circuit layout was the main Sandown track for some years in the mid-late 1980s up to the second, and final, World Sport-Prototype race in November 1988. After that, the "international circuit" was abandoned and the shorter "national circuit" became the standard Sandown layout. The turns inside the hypodrome was demolished.
This GP2 version presents the "international circuit", with the hypodrome turns sector. A longer track than that made by Glenn Durden and Rob Huffer in 1999, now with a improved scenery (by Antonio Pessoa) and new cc-line (made by rremedio).

IMPORTANT:
This is the 1984-1988 "international circuit" of Sandown Park. If you are looking for the "national circuit", Glenn Durden and Rob Huffer made an version as "Sandown Park 1999" in 1999 (download link: http://www.grandprix2.de/Strecke2/Australia/sandown1999.zip).

Other Works : Several, maybe almost 150 tracks for GP2 :-)

                  	  Geoff Crammond for making Grand Prix 2.

* Installation *
1.
(if you already have new tracks on the game jump to STEP 2):
patch the game with a util that obliges the game to read the tracks
from the harddisk. These utils are gp2nocd or trakonhd.
Search for one of them on the net and install it. This program will
create a new directory called "circuits": you have to copy there
ALL the 16 track files (F1ct01, F1ct02...........F1ct16)

2.
Place the 'Sandwn84' directory from the ZIP file into the Gp2 'gamejams' directory.

3.
Place Sandown Park_Australia_1984.dat files in the circuits directory. Slots 09 and 16 was recently tested, and the track run well in both. Others slots was not tested.

4.
Start Gp2 and drive...........
