Description	: Sonoma Raceway, formely Infineon Raceway (2002-2012) and Sears Point Raceway (1968-2001), in Sonoma, California, near the San Francisco metro area, was built in 1968. A very selective track, with hairpins, chicanes, esses, straights, hard climbes and downhills. This GP2 version is based on Indycar track layout from 2012 to 2018, which includes a further chicane and a tight hairpin just before the start/finish line.
Sonoma is a track with a lot of history, when the track held a Indycar race in April 1970, returning to Indycar schedule 35 years later, in 2005. The Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma was a event mostly in late August or early-mid September, when in 2015 became the Season Finale. The 2018 event was the last for IndyCar in Sonoma, since the northern Californian Indy race was transfered to Laguna Seca Raceway for 2019.
When Riverside circuit closed after the 1988 season, NASCAR searched for a substitute track in Western U.S.A., and Sonoma (then "Sears Point Raceway") was chosen as replacement in the stock cars schedule from 1989 onwards, becaming one of the two annual NASCAR Cup races on road courses. Since that year, NASCAR Cup held more than 30 annual races in Sonoma. IMSA Other sportcars series also had races in Sonoma in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, like IMSA GTP, Can-Am, ALMS and Rolex Grand-Am. In early 2010s, World Touring Car Championship held two events in Sonoma, marking the first time a major international series from outside North America run at Sonoma.

* NASCAR Winston Cup from 1972 to 2003, NASCAR Nextel Cup from 2004 to 2007, NASCAR Sprint Cup from 2008 to 2016, and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series since 2017

Notes:

From 1998 to 2018 the NASCAR Cup races at Sonoma run in shortened circuit layouts. In the late 1990s, a straight was created linking the top of the esses to the hairpin. In early 2000s, that straight was cut in two short straights due the inclusion of a 90-degree turn in the middle. In 2019, the NASCAR Cup races at Sonoma resumed to the original long circuit, almost the same layout used by Indycar, excepting the chicane and the last turn, where NASCAR uses a original long left-hander sweep and a 180-degree wide turn, respectively.
