This Tutorial was written to help you to change the Number of Laps To Go in Qualifying mode. This is especially useful nowadays with the new qualifying rules introduced in Formula 1: 1 flying lap per driver in each session. So follow these steps and have fun! But don't forget one thing:

BACKUP YOUR GP2.EXE FIRST!

Ok, let's go.

1. Download an Hexadecimal Editor! I recommend frhed which is freeware and easy to use.   Get it here

2. Open the editor and then go to File / Open. Locate your GP2.EXE then hit OPEN.

3. You'll see a bunch of numbers and letters. Don't worry about then. All you have to do is change two offsets. One offset is for Friday Qualifying and the other one is for Saturday Qualifying. And here they are:

0xe2bf7           :Friday Qualifying
0xe2cf1           :Saturday Qualifying

4. To change the values (in our case, 12) do the following: First press CTRL + G. Then type the respective offset WITHOUT the 0. (xe2bf7, for example). The program will highlight to you the following pair of characters: 0c (which in the Hexadecimal unit is 12!).

All you have to do now is type 03, or 04, or whatever number you want in Hexadecimal unit.

5. Now repeat this to the other offset to change the number of Qualifying Laps for Saturday session.

6. Now go to File / Save. That's it! Have Fun!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TIP: As we know, the Friday Lap times aren't valid for the grid in F1. Unlike in Gp2!. To avoid this you can change the Friday offset value to 02 and the Saturday to 03. By doing this  the cars won't qualify on Friday, only on Saturday.
